Artemisia Afra, or African Wormwood, can be used to make herbal tea with a strong aroma and taste, which can be balanced with honey or other sweeteners. The tea is enjoyed for both pleasure and health benefits.
It can also be used in gin to add complexity and depth, but its use is not very common and its flavor may be overpowering.
Artemisia afra is commonly used in South African traditional medicine for treating ailments such as cough, cold, fever, loss of appetite, colic, headache, earache, and malaria. It is also used as an anthelmintic. Some scientific studies support these uses, but not all are conclusive.
