South African Buchu leaves (Agathosma betulina) is used as a medicinal tea to aleviate unrinary track inflamation. It flavour has been described as a mix of black currant, peppermint and rosemary. In the past it has been used to produce Buchu brandy, but is now becoming more popular in gins with a truly South AFrican character.
