Wormwood herb, whether infused in tea or incorporated into gin production, imparts a distinctively bitter and herbaceous taste, often accompanied by a slightly earthy and medicinal undertone.
It is a keyy ingredient in Absinthe. The traditional base, called the "holy trinity," consists of wormwood (Artemisia absinthium), green anise (Pimpinella anisum), and Florence fennel (Foeniculum vulgare).
Its aroma is strong, with herbal notes that can be very pungent and bitter.
Medicinally, wormwood is known for its historical use in aiding digestion and treating gastrointestinal issues, though its potency requires careful dosage due to its potential toxicity. Additionally, wormwood is sometimes used topically to alleviate insect bites and skin irritations.
